Abstract: This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of two types of composts (farmyard and quail manures) in combination with E.M., and active dry yeasts as a foliar application on the yield of faba bean crop in terms of plant height, number of pods/plant, dry weight of pods g. /plant, dry weight of shoot g. /plant, seed yield, protein content %. Plants received different combination of organic and bio-fertilizers treatments significantly enhanced all measured morphological and yield traits in comparison to inorganic NPK fertilizers. This was with superiority of treatment T4; compost 2 (quail manures) with foliar application of E.M. (Effective microorganisms). The same treatment, T4, accumulated more concentrations of N, P, K, Fe, Zn, total chlorophyll in shoot of plants and more of same nutrients as well as Ca, total carbohydrate and crude protein in their seed than those accumulated in control plants, recommended inorganic NPK treatment. Results indicated that the different combinations of organic and bio-fertilizers of treatments slightly decreased bulk density (B.D.) values, increased both organic matter (O.M.) and water holding capacity (W.H.C) contents. The proportion of macro-aggregates increased while micro-aggregates decreased in tested sandy soil. Moreover, high aggregates proportions
were recorded by the aggregates diameter of (0.5 -0.25 mm) for all combinations of treatments. The economical evaluation of different treatments indicated that the maximum net income, benefit cost ratio (BCR), and investment factor were obtained through application T4. Together these findings support the usefulness and effectiveness of treating sandy soil with different sources of composts in combination with E.M. or active dry yeasts as a foliar spray on plants to enhance growth, yield, improve physical, chemical, biological prosperities, and productivity in sandy soils
