Mona G. Abd El-Kader and Hoda M.G. El-Shaboury( 2013). Evaluation of soaking and foliar methods with compost tea, humic acid and bio-fertilizer on soil fertility and faba bean yield productivity and Quality under saline soil conditions Minufiya J. Agric. Res. Vol.38 No. 6(3):1663-1675 (2013)
Abstract: A filed experiment was conducted at El-Qantra Shark east Seuiz Canal at El-Smalia Governorate. This location irrigated with El-Salam canal .The study examined the evaluation of compost tea , humic acid and bio-fertilizer soaking or foliar application on plant and soil for enhancing growth and quality of faba bean and soil fertility under saline soil conditions, during two winter seasons 2011/ 2012 and 2012/ 2013 , A randomized block design . Soil pH values were not affected significantly in the soil treated with compost tea, humic acid and bio-fertilizer soaked or foliar application. The all treatments soaking and foliar application on soil and plants decreased soil salinity in second seasons than first seasons and control. The effect of compost tea, humic acid and bio-fertilizer on the available N was significant in the second season. The available P in soil change was not significant in both seasons, while the available K in the soil was significantly in both seasons. The available micronutrients contents in soil Fe and Zn were not significantly affected, while the Mn was significantly in second season as affected with compost tea, humic acid and bio-fertilizer addition. The highest mean values for seeds yield (Mg fed-1); weight seed (g) plant-1; No. of branch; weight of 100 seed (g); and weight of pod (Mg fed-1) which recorded 1.163; 31.03; 7.00; 75.96 and 1.231, for seeds treated with humic acid foliar application except of weight of pods (g) plant-1 78.86 as affected were obtained a result of bio-fertilizer foliar application in both seasons. The effect of soaking or foliar of seed in compost tea, humic acid and bio-fertilizer on P and K concentrations in seeds faba bean were significant in both seasons, while its affect on N concentration was not significant in first season. The effect of all treatments soaking or foliar application on Fe concentrations in seeds of faba bean plants were significant in second season , while the Mn and Zn showed not significant response in both seasons. The chlorophyll was significantly increased and proline was significantly decreased as affect by compost tea, humic acid and bio-fertilizer foliar and seeds soaked, while the protein was not affected. It could be concluded that foliar application on soil and plant of humic acid and bio-fertilizer caused to improve soil properties and yield and quality of faba bean plant under saline soil conditions.

Keywords: (soil salinity – humic acid – bio-fertilizer- compost tea – faba bean quality , productivity.)
