Abstract: A field experiment was carried out in a private farm at El-Warak, Giza governorate, Egypt, during summer season (2013) to study the effect of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and humate substances (HS) on growth, yield and productivity of maize (Zea mays) hybrid 10 var. under two levels (50 and 75%) of NPK mineral fertilizations (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium). The obtained results exhibited the increase of total bacterial count, yeast count, nitrogen fixers count and the activity of dehydrogenase enzyme in the rhizosphere of maize plants at 50 and 75 days of planting with the plants treated with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and 3 % humate substances under 75% NPK mineral fertilizers. Moreover, plants gave the highest shoot dry weight and NPK contents with the same treatment compared to control. Therefore, the highest yield and NPK, protein and carbohydrates contents in grains were obtained from the plants in the same treatment. Results also confirmed the positive impact of yeast inoculant with 3 % humate substances amended soil under 75% NPK mineral fertilizers caused a positive effect on growth and maize yield as an economic crop.

Keywords: (Saccharomyces cerevisiae humate substances maize (Zea mays) productivity mineral fertilization. )
