Abstract: The investigation of this work ha~ been carried out to obtain the main identified physiographic units of Tushka region by using satellite image ( landsat TM7 image of bands 7,4 'and 2 ) and study the status of different Potassium forms in the soil of these units.
B using visual interpretation of TM7 image, bands 7, 4 and 2 of Tushka region, six main physiographic units have been produced, these units are:
1 - Pediplain of soft rock ( Shale). 2 - Pediplain of hard rock ( Sandstone)
3 - Alluvial deposits over soft rock ( Saprolite) . 4 - Playa.
5 - Allu ial deposits over hard rock ( Saprolite) . 6 - Aeolian plain .
Fourteen soil profiles have been chpsen to represents the different physiographic units , these profiles were dug till 90 cm. depth as the effecti ve soil depth . Different Potassium forms and some of the main soil properties as mechanical components , organic matter , calcium carbonate , electrical conductivity , sodium and potassium adsorption ratios have been determined in fourty two represent :samples to study the statistical relationship between them. The results reveal that there are a highly significant correlation between electrical conductivity and SAR , also there are a significant correlation between PAR and either CaC03 or soluble K+ and HN03 extractable . In addition these results showed that most of Tushka region soils are differed greatly in amounts of potassium released by the various extracting solutions specially with respect of different physiographic units. Also these results clarified that there are a significant correlation between the most of potassium forms and some physical and chemical properties of the studied soils except with organic matter where the correlation was not significant , this is may due to the dryness of such region and the hottest Climate . Results indicated that the correlation coefficient among the different potassium forms in the studied soil samples of the most physiographic units varied in its values -with each to other and may be reach to be in linear correlation mode. - It could be conclude that most -of the studied area soils are suffering from the reducing of potassium element , this due to the presence many fixation and immobilization status resulting from the dryness and other environment conditions- , which are relating to the potassium element dynamics.
